DETAILED ITINERARY: 1-Day Budget Uganda Gorilla Trek from Kigali

The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park begins at 3:00 am with a pickup from your residence or hotel in Kigali for a drive northward through the Katuna border point to the southern part of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The driver guide will pick you up from your hotel in the morning to depart Kigali for the budget gorilla trekking in the impenetrable Bwindi. Upon reaching Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, you will head to the park headquarters in Bwindi for a briefing and guidelines to follow while in the jungle.

After the briefing, you will be put into groups of 8 or fewer (depending on the season) to go into the forest to look for the endangered mountain gorillas. This guided walking tour will take you into the forest, hiking up steep forested hills in search of the endangered mountain gorillas.

The hike could take you several hours, depending on the movement of these gentle giants. Upon meeting the mountain gorillas, you will spend one hour enjoying the company of these gentle apes. You will be able to see how these animals interact, feed, and play. After the trek, you will return to the park’s headquarters to meet your driver guide for lunch and thereafter embark on the return trip to Kigali. This marks the end of your safari.
