On your arrival at Kigali International airport, you will be picked up by the driver or office representative and transferred to your Hotel in Kigali. We shall work on your check in and leave you at the Hotel to relax, or take part in a Kigali city tour (depending on the time of arrival). Drive through the rolling hills for a visit to the Royal Palace at Nyanza, the National Museum, also known as one of the best museums in East and Central Africa. In the morning, you will be transferred to Volcanoes National Park office for briefing about the Dian Fossey trail hike. It is a 7km round trip hike to the Karisoke Research Center, where the American anthropologist, spent years in works of researching and conserving the gorillas. Even after Dian Fossey’s death, her legacy lives on in the preservation of these the endangered Mountain gorillas. On this hike, look out for other animals like Vervet Monkeys, Golden Monkeys, as well as birds. You will have lunch and thereafter, visit the Ibyiwachu cultural village, where you can actively participate in some of the activities like the use of bows and spears, traditional wear and wedding, drumming and dancing among others. Transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

In the morning, you will have breakfast then set off to the park headquarters for breaking and registration. You will then be allocated a Gorilla Family which you will trek together with trained ranger guides. Hike into the forest in search for the mountain Gorillas. Once you find these gentle giants, you will be allowed an hour’s stay with the gorillas and thereafter, hike back to meet your driver guide. You will then go for your second activity of a boat trip on the Twin Lakes of Rubondo and Bulera. This relaxed trip gives you an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful scenery, photography and birdlife. Return for Dinner and overnight at same lodge.
