This is a quick trip that can be done by travelers to Rwanda on schedule, with a limited budget but wish to trek through Volcanoes National Park to experience the mountain Gorillas in their natural setting.

The trip will start with an early pick up from your hotel or residence to drive to Volcanoes National Park. The stunning landscapes, majestic mountains, and lush rainforests are home to the endangered Mountain Gorillas. You will trek through the forest to catch a glimpse of the mighty giants in their habitat.

Volcanoes National Park is Rwanda’s top tourist destination and it caters for all Rwanda’s gorilla safaris. Its part of the Virunga conservation area, shared with Mhahinga National Park in Uganda and Virunga National Park in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Volcanoes National Park covers 160 square kilometers made of bamboo zones, rainforest, and volcanic peaks.

Beyond the mountain gorillas, Volcanoes National Park has got the golden monkeys as well as other primates, with over 200 bird species. This 1 Day Last Gorilla Trekking Tour will start and end in Rwanda’s Capital, Kigali. The driver guide will pick you from your hotel or residence at 4:00 am to start on your journey to Volcanoes National Park. The journey is so fascinating with attractions which offer a combination of natural beauty, made of landscapes and undulating hills that give a feel of Africa’s unique touch.

The Drive is about 2 hours and 30 minutes to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri District. On arrival, you will have your breakfast then transfer to the park headquarters for briefing on the unique code of conduct around the Mountain Gorillas. You will be assigned a gorilla family to track and in groups of 8, you will proceed to track the mountain Gorillas.

Once you spot the gorillas, please follow instructions from the ranger guides. You will be allowed to spend up to 1 hour with these majestic creatures. The experience in the jungle and meeting the gorillas is sometimes underrated when described. It is a unique and magical moment observing the mountain gorillas play, feed, rest in their habitat. The experience also promotes awareness and need for protecting the endangered gorillas.

After the trekking, you will walk back to meet your driver guide, for lunch and transfer back to Kigali which marks the end of your safari.
